Creating A Home
This residence space is designed for a family of four, parents and their young children ages 6 and 10 years.
As it is clearly visible from the diagram, the only common space in the apartment is the living room, compelling the design to cater to all the needs of the home owners in their individual rooms.
This GIF is a study into the activity mapping of all four members during the day.
It is interesting to note how the usage of internal spaces has changed greatly due to the Covid – 19 pandemic with the children being completely restricted to the house and the parents moving out only occasionally hence increasing the importance of the design to respond to the needs of the home owners.

The Son’s bedroom is detailed out with plans and views from during the day and the transition into the night.
The Son is 10 years old and enjoys playing boards games and video games with his friends. The space is designed keeping in mind his need for extra floor space, a study area and enough storage for his books and toys by using a Murphy bed. At night the bed can be pulled down, providing him a large enough bed to sleep on comfortably.
Here the living room is detailed out with plans and views from during the day and the transition into the night.
The living room being the only common space in the house is designed with neutral colors and with movable furniture. Since the home owners enjoy entertaining and hosting movie nights and game nights, a projector system was installed instead of a Television. An attempt to maximize the utility of the space has been made while providing comfort as well as maintaining the design aesthetic.
